Cast Products Inc. Expands with New FBMX-V Molding Machine and Sand System
In 2024, CPI Cast Products, Inc. (CPI), located in Athens, Alabama, will be launching a new molding equipment project that will allow for a significant advancement in their production capabilities. CPI has purchased a FBMX-V 32” x 32” molding machine capable of 100 molds/hour (un-cored), a mold handling line (single mold per car) and a complete 60 ton per hour sand delivery and return system. This system includes:
- Vibrating Mold Transfer Conveyor
- Vibrating Shakeout
- Vibrating Transfer Conveyor
- New Sand Addition System
- Bucket Elevator
- Sand Belts
- Rotary Screen
- Large Capacity Sand Storage Tank
- Live Bin Bottom
- Belt Type Aerator
The FBMX is the newest molding machine in this series and will be the second FBMX installed in the United States. Melling Engineered Aluminum Castings had the first FBMX machine installed in 2023. This move marks CPI’s commitment to enhancing production efficiency and automating their manufacturing processes.
Family-owned and operated, CPI is proud to continue its advancement in the aluminum casting industry. In addition to the FBMX Molding machine, CPI will be adding square footage, mold and sand handling and new melting capabilities to their operation.
