Polishing

Sinto Surface Technologies has the capability to polish a variety of components requiring enhanced surfaces, with requirements that do not meet the “super finishing” level of surface finish. The basic process routinely achieves surface finishes of 25 µin Ra and can be modified to achieve surfaces in the 10-15 Ra. Sinto Surface Technologies processes employ proprietary media compositions and geometries selected to achieve the desired results on Medical, Aerospace, Transportation components in wrought, cast and forged conditions, typically after machining or manufacturing is completed.

Our process does not utilize any chemicals that could affect or attack the grain structure of traditional or advanced alloys or materials.  Proprietary tooling can be designed and tailored to the specific part geometry to ensure maximum surface treatment with little effect on part geometry or edge erosion.  We currently process a variety of components with varying alloy compositions ranging from soft to high hardness substrates and geometries.

  • Robust process that can develop highly polished substrates with a finish of 25Ra to as smooth as 10Ra efficiently and affordably.
  • We have a range of processing equipment that can handle both small and large components for processing.
  • Sinto Surface Technologies specializes in this capability at our Wallingford Plant and can provide these services through our network of facilities in the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast.
  • Allows for “One Purchase Order” approach to surface processing needs, as polishing typically is an adjunct for other surface modification processes and techniques.
